Hello crafty friends, I hope you’ve been doing great!
Today I thought I’d pop up and share with you a really fun layout I made. Lately I’ve been exploring new ways to use digital scrapbooking resources and I’m getting more and more excited about it. For this layout I used a digital collection created by a very sweet girl, Claudia. You may know her from her Youtube channel where she shares her amazing process videos. Well Claudia designed her own digital collection “Amy” and it’s absolutely stunning. She was kind enough to send me the files to work with so here I am.
By the way you can get Claudia’s collection from her Etsy shop here.
So since I just have a normal printer that works with A4/Letter size papers, I couldn’t print full 12×12 sheets of her papers. Well ok to be honest I rarely use full 12×12 papers. Anyway, I was checking around to find some inspiration for my background and came across this inspiration piece by The Crafty Maven Getaway. It was just perfect for what I had in mind.
I mixed some colors with my acrylic paints and I started adding brush strokes on my background. I started with the darker colors cause I wanted the final result to be pretty light. Although most of the dark strokes are covered, I still love how they pop every now and then between the light shades.
I finished the background by adding some gold splatters. Since my gold mist is really translucent, I used it to water down some gold acrylic paint. This way the mist gets more opaque and the acrylic paint doesn’t lose it’s shine as it would if I just added water in it.
To embellish my page I hand-cut a bunch of the different ephemera pieces from Claudia’s collection. There are so many gorgeous florals and banners that it was really so hard to decide which ones to use on this layout. Since I printed them myself, I had the freedom to resize them as I wanted, so I got some really beautiful big pieces to work with.
Another thing, I loved about this collection were the butterflies! Again a variety of designs to chose from and by printing them yourself you can have even more variety in colors and sizes. I made a little cluster of butterflies, flying off my page to add some extra dimension.
The final step was to add my title using my most favorite thickers (from the Crate Paper, Hello Love collection). It’s really amazing how many things you can do when you use digital resources. You have absolute freedom over everything and the best part is that you can never run out of your favorite bits cause you can pront them over and over again!
