Hello scrappy friends! Today I have another layout that I created with some gorgeous products from theinkroad.com. I basically created a messy page without using messy media.

I had these funny selfies that I wanted to scrap and I wanted my layout to show how silly and random that moment was. I wanted to have some sort of mess going on but I didn’t want to add a lot of mixed media. So here’s what I did.
Although I didn’t want to add a lot of media, I couldn’t resist adding some texture paste to start creating my subtle mess. I used a DIY stencil I made by cutting a plastic sheet with my Silhouette. The cut file I used is called Spinwheels. I placed my photos in different angles so that there’s no actual structure. I also backed them with some scrap pieces of papers in different sizes.
My next step was to add embellishments with different materials. I picked some wood veneer pieces, a fabric bow and some feathers I cut out of vellum. That variety is enhancing the messy look I’m going for without making it too overwhelming. I also added some black word stickers to highlight the different angles that I created on this page.
Last but not lease, there’s no mess without ink splatters. And of course I’m talking about black ink. For some reason my ink was extra sticky and the splatters ended up a bit weird but we are not going for perfection anyway.
