Hello scrappy friends! Today I’m finally getting back on track after my long summer vacation. It was pretty hard for me to stay on top of things while I was visiting my family but now I’m back and super excited to get back to “work”.
Today I’m going to share with you a layout I created for the Ink Road and it was probably one of the most time consuming layouts I ever created.
By the way let me remind you that you can use the code “ZINIA20” at theinkroad.com to get 20% discount for any purchase!
I started by typing the word “create” with a large font in my Silhouette Studio and cut the letters out to use them as templates for my stitching (alternatively you can just print the letters and use it as a template to poke holes). I decided to stitch just the outline on some of the letters and fill the rest with a geometric pattern. I have no idea how long it took me to finish it but it was for sure a LONG time.
Once the stitching was done I started putting together more elements to embellish the design. I layered some ephemera pieces behind my photo to make it pop from the background and added a little cluster of embellishments in the empty space that was created above the “R”.
Since the bottom part was pretty empty, I decided to change my title to “Create& Inspire” so I use the beautiful chipboard thickers from the Paige Evans “Take me Away” collection. To finish it off, I added two strips of washi tape to give a base to the design.
