Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you a couple of fun ways you can use the watercolor resist cards that are part of Amy Tangerine’s latest collection, Sunshine & Good Times.
The pack actually includes a couple of different elements including gift tags and tine cards but today I’ll focus on the bigger cards that come in this pack.
The first card has a die-cut Hooray word with big letters. The inner parts are actually included as well but I chose to remove them for this technique. I use Vicki Boutin’s art crayons and a baby wipe to apply a very light tint of color and reveal the watercolor resist pattern on that card. Then I used a bunch of different washi tape designs and placed them behind the die cut letters to add more colors.
For the second card, I used the same baby wipe technique to apply color with crayons but this time I used more pigment and applied multiple layers of color to make it strong and vibrant. The resist elements on this card design were definitely the spotlight. I didn’t want to add too many elements that will distract away from that center sentiment so I decided to grab a few stickers.
The best part about the stickers in Amy’s collections is that they are clear. That makes them perfect to use over watercolors cause they blend in with the background beautifully.
I wanted to make both cards look as part of a set so I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops to bring in some of the teal I used in the first card.
