Hello scrappy friends. Today I have another mixed media layout for scrapbooking.gr to share with you. Actually I initially planned to make an art journal page but in the end I just felt like going for some messy scrapping and play around with my paints on a 12×12 piece of paper.
I started by adding some big splatters on my page. I grabbed some acrylic paint dabbers, smooshed it on a scrap piece of paper to get a good amount of the paint on the dabber, added a small amount of water with a spray bottle and I smashed it on the page. I was an explosion of color! It’s an extremely fun and addicting process.
The paint in one of my dabbers was really thick for some reason, almost like a paste so I couldn’t use it for this technique. Instead, I scooped it with a spatula and spread at the bottom half of my page to add some background color to the embellishments I was planning on adding later on.
The design I had in mind was a cluster of butterflies and flowers. To create the butterflies, I cut out some bits of my Tim Holtz tissue paper and stuck them on some Studio Calico pattern paper. Then I just fussy cut them. I used some pop dots to adhere them on the page to add some more dimension and shadows.
I also added a bunch of little phrase stickers by Tim Holtz. Between the butterflies, I added some flowers I cut with my Silhouette. I used a cut file by The Cut Shoppe and cut it in a couple of different sizes using white cardstock.
