Today I’m going to share with you one of my most favorite holiday craft projects, making gift tags! I really really love those small adorable things that add that extra magic to every gift. This year I actually made really a lot of them. I had some family members asking my help to create a few for their gift exchange and I just couldn’t say no.
Anyway, let’s get passed the introductions and dive right into the craftiness! For this small batch of gift tags, I thought it would be fun to make some hybrid ones. And coincidentally I had the perfect resources for it. I used some of the digital paper and element designs by Amber LaBau’s latest collection.
I opened an A4 photoshop file and split it in four parts. Then I chose some of my favorite patterns and filled each part with one of them. I also grabbed the labels that were included in the elements pack and added one on each tag. From there, everything else was super easy.
I printed my tags on heavy paper then cut and folded them in half. I got my hole punch and added some holes so I can add some ribbon. I wasn’t sure if it would look better to add the ribbon on the top or as a closure on the side so I did half and half.
I tied some adorable bows with a thin white ribbon added a couple of labels and paper clips here and there to decorate them a bit more. The patterns are already too pretty so they don’t really need a lot of extra additions. That’s actually the reason I chose this ribbon cause I didn’t want it to be distracting from the main tag.
I just put on the whatever leftovers I had from my gift wrapping for the extra labels and bows. To be honest I wasn’t sure if I wanted something extra as they were already super pretty without any extra decorations.
This one is probably my favorite cause I’m still obsessed with polka dots.
This is a very easy way to print and create your own gift tags for last minute gifts if you don’t have something on hand.
