Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you an idea on how to create mixed media cards. I created this project for scrapbooking.gr and you can find a full list of the products used at the end of this post.
I find it really fun to work on deli paper when I do mixed media. A lot of times I end up with spare bits so I was trying to think of ways to use those extra pieces. So I came up with the idea of cutting the deli paper and stitch it on a card.
For this card I played around with some distress stains. I did a little bit of direct spraying on the deli paper, a bit of splattering and a bit of smooshing. You can really do anything you enjoy, you can even try some geli plate prints.
Once you are happy with your background just cut it a bit smaller than your card base and stitch it on.
I hand-stitched mine which made the border a bit wiggly but I really loved that effect. Once the background was in place I just embellished it by stamping and embossing a jar filled with hearts.
To finish it off, I just tied a ribbon into a bow around the card. And that’s all! It’s really so simple and easy. You can combine your love of creating mixed media with cardmaking and share your masterpieces with your friends and family.
