Hello crafty friends!
Last week I’ve been really worried that my Ink Road DT package won’t arrive to me in time for my first project assignment so I started panicking. I went through my stash and picked a bunch of items that I had purchased from The Ink Road in the past and created a layout so in case my package is late I’d have something to share with you. Well in the end my package arrived earlier than I expected so I’m just putting this layout up here as bonus.
Oh and before I forget! If you want to grab yourself some supplies from theinkroad.com you can get a yummy 10% off on your entire order by using the code “ZINIA10“.
So now that we settled on this, you’ll say “level up” is two words. Yes, I kinda cheated, but I have a good reason. I was extremely lucky to get a free scholarship for an amazing class. I didn’t really know how great it is when it started but the more I proceed in it, the more excited I get. The class is called Level Up (duh!) and it’s created by my most favorite online person ever, Caylee Grey. I’m a huge fangirl of Caylee and I love everything she does but I’m being really objective when I say that every creative person can benefit so much from this class. I’ll leave you the link here so you can take a look around but I can’t recommend it enough. (Just to make clear I’m not affiliated with the class and promoting it doesn’t give me any profit, I’m just very excited about it and I’m sure many of you will love it too)
Now let’s finally get to the layout, shall we? The whole idea was to create something pretty and inspiring, so I can put it on my wall and remind myself that I need to improve and level up every day. I chose to work with the Dear Lizzy “Fine & Dandy” collection cause it was one of my favorite collections of last year and the colors are just so fresh and happy.
I cut some rows from a pattern paper with houses and layered them on the bottom. I really love the way it looks cause it’s like you see a city and on top of it have a cloud with people’s thoughts and dreams.
I layered different papers and elements in a 2×2 grid design and I just went free picking all the little bits that were pleasing to my eye or those things that I feel happy and inspired to look at.
As a side-note, let me tell you I used a huge amount of hot glue. I just wanted to make the page super dimensional so I kept adding more and more till I almost run out of refills.
I also added some splatters using my Tattered Angels Simply Sheer pink mist. I was so happy it was the perfect shade of pink for my layout.
I forgot to mention that most of the elements are from the cut-apart sheets that were included in this collection. I actually have the whole 12×12 paper pad, but I’ll try to link some individual papers whenever possible.
As I mentioned at the start, I was initially hoping to put this on my wall but since I don’t have a frame, I just went with washi tape. Bad idea. Remember I told you that I used a ton of hot glue? Well my page is too heave for washi tape. So, if you have any suggestions or ideas about how to make this work (without buying a frame obviously) please let me know ^_^
I think that’s everything! Bellow you can find a full list of the products used for this layout. Don’t forget you can get 10% off discount using the code “ZINIA10“.
