Hello scrappy friends!
I’m here with another layout I created and this time I used some lovely printables by Claudia. I used her latest collection “Let the Sun Shine” and printed out some of the pieces that stood out to me (mostly flowers of course). You may already know that when I use printables and digital resources, I really love adding mixed media to my pages. It’s probably to cover up the fact that I can’t print 12×12 papers.
So I just started by spreading some acrylic paint on my background using an old gift card. The color I used is called Ivory and it’s this beautiful light ochre. Once that was almost dry, I went in and added some ripped book pages (yes, this is my new favorite things and I do it on almost every page). And that was it for my background.
I wanted to layer some papers behind my photo so instead of printing full sheets, I printed a couple of stripes of the different patterns that I liked. That’s another thing I love about digital resources, you just print as much as you need so you don’t end up with leftovers in your scrap box.
For my embellishing, I used a bunch of floral pieces and tags I printed from the same collection. I had to hand-cut everything since I don’t have a silhouette yet (and by yet, I mean I’m expecting it to arrive any day now woohoo!) but it was really easy to do so cause the designs are not too complicated.
Then I pulled out a bunch of enamel dots and word stickers from my stash to add a few extra elements, until I feel my page
is “finished”. Of course the final touch was to add some black ink splatters to bring everything together.
It was a pretty easy and fun page to create. I love how simple yet interesting the background looks with the texture of the book pages.
As always here’s a list to the products I used (well most of them). I linked to Claudia’s collection straight to her Etsy store. Also if you are staring at any of the other bits you can grab them with 10% discout at theinkroad.com by using the code “ZINIA10“.
Until next time, happy crafting!
