When I first saw this tag I wanted to do it in my isntagram account but the days passed and I didn’t manage to get to it. So recently I saw some people joining a bit later in this and I thought why not, so here are my answers to Vienna’s (My_planner) Planner Addict Tag.
1. What planner are you currently using?
I’m currently using two planners, a personal Filofax Willow with my calendar inserts and information I usually need on the go and an A5 compact binder (I don’t really know the brand) that stays at home and keeps my finances, household and university information.
2. What planner(s) have given you planner peace?
I can’t say I ever felt like my system is so great to consider it planner peace nor that my system is not working so I really need to find something new. I’m always excited to try new things but at the same time I’m happy with the way things work so far.
3. Filofax, Midori or Erin Condren?
Depends. I would prefer different things for different uses. Sadly I can’t afford an Erin Condren (plus international shipping hurts a lot) so I never tried it myself but I’m familiar with the layout and I think it would serve great for a school or blog planner. I love using Filofax (generally bound planners) for my daily things cause I can take things out and put things in anytime I need to. I’m also in love with Midori, I actually have a really beautiful happiedori from Sam and I think it’s the perfect solution for journaling and keeping memorabilia or random notes.
4. Pocket, personal, A5, or binder?
If I had to only chose one I’d say A5 is my size. It’s nice and spacy, easy to make custom inserts for and find a variety of compatible supplies. The only disadvantage is that it’s not always easy to fit it in any bag so when it comes to on-the-go planner, I pick personal size.
5. Where do you get inspired the most? YouTube, Instagram or Pinterest?
For big changes and ideas (like for example when I wanted to purchase a Fauxdori) I always check youtube, I provides more info and better reviews on things. On smaller things like way to enhance my system I like to keep pinboards with ideas on different topics. I really love instagram too but I don’t consider it a place to get inspiration from.
6. What’s your go to pen?
Call me old fashioned but my all-time favorite pens are BIC medium (both in blue and black) but as my scribbles on the go can be very bad I always use a Pilot Frixion point in 0.5 (black) in my planners. My favorite pens to add some color are definitely the Staedtler triplus fineliners, I have tons of them.
7. What are your favorite inserts?
My most favorite calendar inserts for a while now are Studio L2e ones. They are exactly what I need for my day to day planning and the best part is that they are free :D.
8. Stickers, post-it’s, or page flags?
Of course I use them all but I have to say stickers cause label stickers are the supplies I use in my planner the most.
9. Keep it simple or deck it out?
I think I’m kinda in between but probably leaning a bit more to keep it simple. Even when I use some extra decoration I want to keep everything structured and clear so my eyes focus on the tasks rather than the pretty things around.
10. How many sections do you have in your planner?
Both my personal and A5 planners have five sections each (though I’m not fully setup in my A5 so some sections are not being used just yet).
11. Do you use a planner for school?
Yes. I keep detailed info and schedule for my university in my A5 binder and some everyday info in my personal one. I like to jot down all the important dates and class plans at the beginning of each semester so I can refer to them any time.
12. Rings, spiral bound, discbound or other? Why?
I would say spiral bound planners as I really love how you can fold it on it’s back and reduce the space in half but I sacrifice it for the flexibility of moving inserts around in a ring bound planner. That’s why so far I only used ring 0planners but I’m always hunting for the perfect spiral bound planner (or even considering printing my own).
13. Do you use a dashboard? How?
I have dashboards in both my planners and I basically use them as page lifters and decoration. I don’t really stick notes and reminders on them unless it’s something extremely urgent (it only happened once or twice).
