Hello everyone! Today I’d like to share with you a fun minibook I created using the watercolor resist cards and tags pack that is included in Sunshine & Good Times by Amy Tangerine.
My first step was to create a little booklet using the small gift card pieces. This was super fast and easy, I just stapled a few of them together using my WeR Memory Keepers staple board. Now I colored my pages after I stapled them together so I will have matching colors for each spread but if you don’t mind that you can color the pages before you put them together to avoid leaking color.
To color my pages and reveal the gorgeous resist designs on these tiny cards, I used some of my favorite colors of mermaid markers by Jane Davenport. I made sure the colors matched Hustle & Heart cause that was the main collection I wanted to use for this project.
I used a few different colors on each page and let them blend and spread around on their own to create some gorgeous watercolor washes.
To cover imperfections from color leaking on the spine, I used a few strips of washi tape. My decorations were mainly using different stickers from Sunshine & Good Times, Hustle & Heart and On a Whim.
I also used a tone of stickers from Amy’s 30-page sticker book from American Crafts. The awesome thing about this sticker book is that all the paper quality is not too bulky so it doesn’t make the minibook look extra stuffed.
I used some paint markers to add doodling and details on top of the watercolor backgrounds across the whole minibook. In some cases I used the paint markers to outline stickers or to even add journaling.
I used a normal black pen to write longer pieces of journaling when that was necessary.
This is one of my most favorite minibooks ever cause it’s cute and tiny and the colors are absolutely stunning and bright!
